Can you sell my personal car?
Usually not on its own. McLemore Auction is a licensed auction company, not a motor vehicle dealer, so we sell vehicles inside the situations Tennessee law sets aside for auction: estates and court fiduciaries, lenders and lienholders, business, farm, and construction liquidations, families funding nursing or health care, salvage to licensed buyers, and vehicles located in Alabama during the sale. If your vehicle fits one of those, we can help. If it does not, we will tell you on the first call.
How many vehicles can an estate sell?
Up to five vehicles titled to the decedent per auction. Larger fleets held by a business or lender run in a different lane with no five-vehicle limit.
Do I need the title in hand?
It helps, but call us either way. We handle lien releases, duplicate titles, and estate and fiduciary transfers regularly, and we run a VIN and title history check on every vehicle before it is cataloged.
What does it cost?
Commission is paid from the sale proceeds. We review the vehicles, the title situation, and the timeline before proposing terms.
How fast can this happen?
Many vehicle sales can be cataloged, marketed, sold, and settled in about 30 days after engagement.
